Pippi Longstocking

My daughter than 3 yo dressed out for carneval in her kindergarden as "Pippi Langstrømpe" as we say it in Norwegian and in the original Swedish language, too. She really had a very LONG period where she actually became Pippi Longstocking - as you call Astrid Lingren worldwide famous main carachter in many childrens books, movies and now also as cartoons.. These days it's 3 years since that famous author Astrid Lingren died. RIP - but her stories will forever have life!

Pippi Longstocking is the creation of Swedish author Astrid Lindgren. Pippi, the daughter of a seldom-seen pirate, has long red ponytails, piles of gold, superhuman strength and boundless mirth. Her books are among the most translated children's books in the world, and have been adapted to television, film and animation.

Pippi IS the worlds strongest and bravest (she easely lifts her hores with people on above her head!), she is extreamly smart and makes it on her own in her house, she has a little monkey and a big hvite horse with circle round small dots all over. She has two very good friends, Tommy and Annika, and these three often goes on expeditions together. Pippi rebells against all grown up's rigid world, she don't see the point in going to school other than the vecations that gives and she has a father who is a sea captain (kind of pirat), which is mostly away on the seven seas and her mother is an angel in heaven... This is not any stupid Barbie Doll - Pippi is one of the small girls ONLY real hero and are loved of both boys and girls..



Astrids Lindgren's Books are translated to nearly 80 different languages all over the world. Most popular of all Astrid's characters is Pippi Langstrømpe, which is translated into over 50 languages. Most popular of course in the Nordic countries, but sells a lot every year in Germany and Italy, too.
